Chryseia 2023
P+S Prats & Symington Chryseia 2023
Chryseia 2023 is the purest expression of the Douro Valley terroir, a partnership between the Prats and Symington families. Produced with great rigour and attention to detail in the Quinta de Roriz winery, the wine reflects these houses' commitment to creating a Douro of elegance and finesse from their emblematic grape varieties: Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca. The result is a deeply fruity wine with soft, round tannins, great freshness and a refined character that continues the brand's tradition of refinement.
Vinification: Vinification is carried out by fermentation in stainless steel vats with strict temperature control, ensuring the balanced extraction of colour, aroma and tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 15 months in 400L French oak barrels, both new and second-use, which gives it structure, complexity and subtle integration of wood.
Tasting notes: Very complex, deep, serene, candid aroma, with forest fruits and smoky notes, spices such as pepper, rockrose resin, dust, Douro soil. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round, with fine acidity and very polished tannins, all elegance and smoothness, with a long and subtle finish. ESTE 2023, possibly the best Chryseia ever.
