Casa da Passarella Vindima Tinto 2014
Casa da Passarella Vindima Tinto 2014
Casa da Passarella Vindima Red 2014 originates from the historic Casa da Passarella, in the heart of the Dão region, an estate with roots dating back to 1892 that has helped shape the region’s reputation. The 2014 vintage stands as the heir to this legacy: a wine that blends tradition, time-honoured expertise and the mountainous character of the Serra da Estrela sub-region, with its granitic soils and mountain climate. This vintage has produced a red wine with a classic profile, where elegance and structure go hand in hand. The technical sheet itself immediately points to a wine ready to drink, yet with the solidity and balance of a great traditional Dão blend, based on a wide range of indigenous grape varieties.
Vinification: Traditionally, in a granite wine press, respecting the estate’s most authentic traditions. Ageing lasted for two winters in casks and the remainder of the time in bottle, a choice that helps to refine the tannins without losing the wine’s freshness and identity. Created by Paulo Nunes, it has 13.8% ABV, 5.9 g/l total acidity and a pH of 3.50.
Tasting Notes: Ruby red colour. On the nose, red fruit, spices and a delicate balsamic note. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with presence but without excess, finishing with a long and persistent aftertaste. A classic red wine, highly gastronomic, which clearly demonstrates the depth of Passarella’s great wines.

Extraordinary colour and brilliance for its age. A fragrant, delicate aroma, with elegant, fresh red fruit, berries, pine needles, pine and fresh resins, all displaying a superlative level of complexity. Full-bodied and lively on the palate, with tannins of pure class and plenty of flavour, once again presenting a fresh, creamy profile with notes of pine nuts and blueberries. A long, elegant finish. Wonderful.
