Pera-Manca Tinto 2019
Pera-Manca Red 2019
Pêra-Manca Red 2019 is one of the great icons of the Alentejo and the “mark of excellence” of Adega Cartuxa / Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, first launched in 1990.
The 2019 vintage was marked by a generally dry profile, with heat at the beginning of the cycle and a more balanced ripening in the final phase, helping to preserve freshness and aromatic precision — the perfect basis for a red wine for aging such as Pêra-Manca.
Vinification: grapes from vines over 30 years old, from granite soils in Évora, harvested and selected with great care. Total destemming, optical sorting, and light crushing. Fermentation in temperature-controlled French oak vats, followed by prolonged post-fermentation maceration. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and then in the bottle in the cellars of Mosteiro da Cartuxa. No tartaric stabilization was performed.
Tasting notes (producer): a full-bodied, complex and elegant red wine, with aromas of dried fruit and essences from the aging wood. The quality of the tannins and wood gives it great longevity, requiring time in the bottle to reveal its full potential. Best served at 17ºC.
Grape varieties: Aragonez and Trincadeira.
