Natura Tinta Amarela 2018: Vitor Matos e Amilcar Salgado
Natura Tinta Amarela 2018
Natura By Vítor Matos Tinta Amarela 2018 is a signature red wine born from the collaboration between chef Vítor Matos and Quinta do Arcossó, in Trás-os-Montes. Produced in only 360 bottles, it is a modern and very serious interpretation of the Tinta Amarela grape variety.
2018 Harvest
The grapes were harvested at perfect ripeness, with manual selection of the bunches, seeking a balance between concentration, freshness and elegance - a profile that the 2018 edition expresses in an exemplary way.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes were trodden by foot, with alcoholic fermentation and prolonged maceration to extract colour, fine tannins and aromatic complexity. Once fermentation was complete, the wine aged for 22 months in new French oak barrels, sourced from only two selected barrels. It was bottled without filtration and remained in the bottle for a further 16 to 24 months before reaching the market.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it reveals a vibrant and lively ruby colour. The nose is deep, with ripe black fruit, hints of jam, chocolate and luxurious spices. On the palate, it impresses with its fresh fruit, nuances of graphite and wet stone, firm tannins and intense acidity, in a very focused and serious ensemble. The finish is long, full of energy, heralding enormous longevity in the cellar.
